Contemporary Glass Extension With Patio in Wendover

Mr & Mrs Radford came to us with the view of building a glass extension which would complement the contemporary internal style of their home.

During the design phase, we felt it best to have a high wall on one side of the conservatory, with a minimalistic pillar on the left-hand side which would carry the weight of the steel beam that would be required for the bi-folding doors. This would allow the entire room to be opened out onto the garden.

Both sets of doors were made from aluminium to keep the slim, sleek lines required of a contemporary design, and a tinted blue roof was used to help with temperature control during the extreme months of the year. On the inside of the conservatory, walls were plastered and specially selected tiles were laid for a clean finish.

Externally, matching tiles were used to build a patio area which was ‘stepped’ up from the garden, further enhancing this lovely new area of the Radford’s home, and giving their rear garden an incredibly modern and relaxing feel.
