Originally, the Watsons had a fully glazed roof which offered very little in the way of thermal control. After a consultation with our sales manager, Peter, they decided the best option was the Ultraframe Livinroof - a hybrid insulated aluminium roof with several glass panels to offer light into the newly extended living room.
As the existing frames and brickwork were still in good condition, we fully removed the existing roof and began work to fit the bespoke LivinRoof. In order to compensate for the solid roof, the decision was made to have glazed panels up against the house wall to give as much light as possible into the house. To increase this further, we cut out some of the brickwork on the front elevation to fit in a floor-to-ceiling window.
The main plus points of the LivinRoof is the ability to have a solid appearing plastered ceiling with the contemporary large glazing panels, as well as being up to 15 times more thermally efficient than the old glazed roof; offering a year round stable temperature.
