Gable Ended Conservatory in Haddenham

Project Overview

  • Location: Haddenham, Buckinghamshire
  • Project Tags: Traditional, Underfloor Heating
  • Customer: Mr & Mrs Gilbert

Mr & Mrs Gilbert came to us through a recommendation from a previous customer. They were looking to extend their home with a traditional style conservatory that would compliment an existing extension on the back of their property.

To give them the extra space they required, we decided that a gable ended conservatory with a slight 'p-shape' would be the best solution. This combination of styles ensured that the roof line would blend in with the existing extension, whilst also giving them additional interior space and a natural flow from home to garden.

As is normal on most of our traditional conservatory projects these days, tinted blue active glass was used to make the conservatory fully insulated and protected from the full force of the sun in the summer. A high wall was erected on one side of the conservatory to give it a more solid feel and to focus the view onto the garden.

We installed underfloor heating to make the room usable throughout the winter, and we were required to remove and block up an existing set of French doors. This area of wall was then plastered and a new TV was installed in the location.

Finally we re-laid the patio area around the new conservatory to complete a lovely build that Mr & Mrs Gilbert were very happy with.
